I'm excited to offer up this rare Stanley No. 10 1/4 carriage maker's rabbet plane in nearly pristine condition. The knob and tote are specially constructed to be tilted for comfort when planing large rabbets. Produced from 1911 - 1942. This is a late model type 16, produced between 1941 - 1942.
Its one of the few that was produced without spurs. One of the cleanest and well preserved planes I've had the pleasure of owning. I did nothing but wipe it down for dust.
Carefully inspected for any signs of wear and tear. No cracks around mouth or elsewhere. Frog has no missing nickel plating, and body has no chipped japanning. Blade is fairly sharp - just a little honing will get it razor sharp.Tote and knob are original and tilt easily. They hold their straight or tilted position when the screws are tightened down. There is some minor rub-off of the finish on the rosewood knob. An all around perfect example of this rare Stanley offering. Please examine each photo to be knocked dead by its good looks!
