Over 6000 wet mint handmade German marbles. This is my personal collection. It represents 30 years of collecting.
Most of these marbles are choice, pristine, mint mibs. I made some great buys on very rare types. To me, even a small hit meant it didn't get added to the collection unless it was just too cool to pass up.. The focus of the collection was broad rather than type focused.I bought every killer peppermint and Indian I could get. But then again, I went nuts for solid cores, ribbon cores, large mibs, peewees, same canes, lutz, gooseberries, clambroths, Joseph coats, onionskins, tri stage, micas with ghost cores, rare colored latticinos and on and on.
There are hundreds of every type of handmade. I can assure you that if you have the dollars to obtain this collection, you will find that it is huge step in the right direction if you plan to build a world class collection of mint handmade marbles. I did focus on British colors, love the bright colors! And same canes make me crazy. I once bought an amazing collection of 12 same cane cranberry lutz, they are in this collection. And there are bags of same canes of all kinds. In some cases there are groups of 5,6,7,9 etc.
Yes, lots of the Indians are mag lites. All of the individual marbles are bagged and boxed. Each bag is marked with the details of the marble. There are ten(now eleven) large boxes neatly filled with well preserved and curated marbles. I can't really lay out large groups of the collection for pictures because each bag is marked with where and when I got it, from whom, what kind it is and how much I paid.My son suggested that we take photos of all the boxes spread out so people can see the volume and relative size of the collection. They are bagged and packaged in 4" deep flats that measure 11"wide and 16 1/2long. The exact count is 6115 and roughly 650 of that count are nice Chinas and Benningtons, all the rest are glass. This is my entire collection.
I will not be holding any back. The collection continues to grow in numbers and yet the offer price has been dropped. So now there is another box full (11boxes total). Newly added is a gorgeous mint 1 1/2 lutz and an antique german marble box containing the original 100 matchy latts with the original label on the box.
This is a killer deal on a large collection of high quality specimens. Because of the interest of several collectors I took a tally of some of what the collection contains: 87 Indians, 156 peppermints, 260 onionskins, 86 joseph coats, 6 gooseberries, 19 clambroths, 101 lutz, 102 micas, 128 ribbon cores, 25 caged, loads of british colors(my favorite), solid cores and latts with rare colors, naked cores, opaques, clouds, eod, clearies with ghost cores and pontils. I favor faceted pontils and made effort towards obtaining them. There is a list of every marble in the first ten boxes. I haven't done an inventory for box number eleven as yet.
